Policies
We seek to combine structure and discipline with fun and energy during our classes. To accomplish this, we require our students to follow a few important guidelines:
1. Students should attend all classes. Attendance is monitored each week. In the event of an absence, please contact the studio prior to your child’s class time.
2. Students must have their hair secured in a pony-tail or bun. All ballet students must wear a ballet bun.
3. Students must come dressed in the proper dance attire. Proper class attire includes a leotard and tights. Please note that large T-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, or street clothes are not permitted during class. Please review the list below:
Tiny Tots: Comfortable street clothes or leotard and tights.
Preschool: Pink leotard and pink tights.
Combination: Black leotard and black tights.
Tap: Black leotard and black tights. Black dance shorts are also permitted.
Jazz: Black leotard and black tights. Black dance shorts are also permitted.
Ballet: Black leotard and pink tights. Black dance shorts or a ballet skirt is also permitted.
Acrobatics: Black leotard or unitard and black footless tights.
Hip Hop: Black leotard and black dance shorts or black dance pants.
Lyrical: Black leotard and black footless tights. Black dance shorts are also permitted.
Musical Theater: Black leotard and black tights. Black dance shorts are also permitted.
Cheer Dance: Black leotard and black dance shorts.
Modern: Black leotard and black footless tights. Black dance shorts are also permitted.
If students choose to come dressed in anything other than what is listed above, they will be provided clean dance clothes to borrow. Please come prepared.
4. Male students must wear a white T-shirt with black dance pants and black dance shoes in the appropriate style.
5. Students must have the proper dace shoes for each class. Please review the list below:
Tiny Tots: Capezio® Kid’s Unisex “Daisy” Ballet Slipper (color: pink or black) or athletic sneakers
Preschool:

Cheer Dance: Cheerleading Sneakers (color: white)
Modern: Bare Feet
Shoes can be purchased at Bailey Slipper Shop (8210 Main Street; Williamsville, NY 14221 or 3719 Union Road, Suite 101; Cheektowaga, New York 14225), Dance N’ Stuff (234 Highland Pkwy; Buffalo, NY 14223), or online at www.discountdancesupply.com. Please note that for safety reasons, Tiny Tots, Preschool, and Combination students should wear the proper ballet slippers and not bedroom slippers that look like ballet slippers.
6. Students must have a dance bag for all of their dance shoes.
7. All patent tap shoes must have elastic ties instead of ribbons.
8. All dance shoes and dance bags must be labeled clearly with each student’s name.
9. Students should take a monthly newsletter in order to be updated on important information.
